This is a magnificent new procedure. It’s called DermaPen or Micro-Needling. Fountain of You MD is excited to be one of the few facilities where you can get the new Hollywood Lift made so famous by young to middle-aged actors and actresses. It is also commonly referred to the Vampire Lift.

It can dramatically improve aged and sagging skin. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Overall Skin Tightening is achieved as collagen rebuilds following treatments. Only 2-3 treatments are needed to achieve great results. Annual maintenance of 2-3 times per year to keep your skin looking its best. Acne scars, stretch marks and even surgical scars can be improved with treatment. Surprisingly, it’s a relatively simple process and there is ZERO downtime.

The Pen is a Fractional Needling device that rapidly punctures microscopic holes into the skin. Following the procedure, as the skin heals, it creates more collagen.

Platelet Rich Plasma literally stimulates new cell growth in the patient’s body wherever it is injected. It helps the body heal itself the natural way without using chemicals or foreign substances of any kind. The possibility of an allergic reaction or infection is almost nil because the plasma comes from the patient’s own body. The growth factors and cytokines are signaling proteins and have a stimulating effect on the Stem Cells located within the targeted area.

Stem cells are found throughout the entire body and play a key role in repairing damaged tissue. In fact, the future of Regenerative Medicine includes the combination of PRP along with the administration of concentrated Stem Cells. The Platelets growth factors and signaling cytokines help stimulate stem cells; triggers the healing cascade, restores new blood growth, collagen synthesis, new cell growth, and new tissue regeneration.

PRP injections are simple office-based procedures. The patient’s own blood is drawn, similar to a lab test, and placed into a special syringe. The syringe is then placed into a centrifuge that will separate the PRP from the other blood components. The separated PRP is then drawn into another syringe used for injections. The entire process including the blood sample processing and the completion of the injections will take approximately 60 minutes.

With the injections of the PRP and after the scalp has been thoroughly numbed with local anesthetic, your physician will use a small needling device on your scalp for stimulation of the wound healing process. In any healing process, there is a sequence that the body follows in order to heal itself. The first phase is called the inflammatory phase. This is where all of the inflammatory factors initiate the cascade of the healing process. This is then followed by the regenerative phase where the platelets supply the growth factor and proteins called cytokines; which signal for the body’s own stem cells.

The theory behind Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is to promote repair of various structures by harvesting concentrated blood components and injecting them into damaged structures. The platelets act as a scaffold. Various growth factors and cytokines attract stem cells to the area. The stems cells adhere to the platelet scaffold and differentiate into various cells types. Platelet Poor Plasma (PPP) can also be harvested during the process and utilized for soft tissue problems (trigger points) and less problematic joints. PPP like PRP contains factors that promote angiogenesis, thereby increasing circulation to problematic areas.
